Laser hair removal is one of the most effective treatments for both men and women, of all ages, looking to get rid of their unwanted hair. Unwanted hair can often be the cause of great anxiety and insecurity, with many people desperately seeking alternative methods of hair removal. Traditional methods of hair removal such as shaving, waxing and electrolysis involve ongoing, inconvenient and often painful treatment. Laser hair removal is now established as the most effective and efficient treatment available.
At West London Dermatology Centre in Chiswick, we offer state of the art Laser technology to safely treat and target hair removal for all skin tones and hair colour, although, it’s worth noting that laser hair removal works best on those with dark hair. Any concerns or queries you may have will be answered at your initial free consultation. During your consultation you will also receive a patch test to determine your suitability for the laser hair removal. Please call us on 0208 742 2204 or complete our online form.
Once you have discussed the area you wish to perform laser hair removal, with your laser therapist or nurse, treatment can begin. As the laser light enters the skin it is selectively absorbed by the melanin which surrounds the follicle. The Laser or Pulse Light directly targets the base of the follicle, destroying the root, ensuring the hair falls out never to return. For the best results, a course of laser hair removal treatments are required and will vary depending on skin type, area treated and thickness of the hair.
There are three phases of hair growth, which means that dormant hair will grow and can be treated when the hairs are in the growing stage (i.e visible on the surface of the skin). You will find that with each laser hair removal treatment, your hair will fall out over the course of 7 to 10 days and you will be hair free until the next phase of hair growth. With each treatment you will notice your hair growing back much finer and lighter than before until you reach the desired result with little or no regrowth, leaving your skin smooth and hair free.
For sufferers of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, the symptoms of which can be distressing and result in excessive hair growth, we offer a free consultation and 25% off any course of laser hair removal treatments purchased on the day. Please contact us today to book an appointment at our state of the art clinic in Chiswick, London.
